Surge Student Ministries (SSM) was created through the New Year of 2010 inspired by an event called Conclave. The official kick-off of SSM was March 3rd 2010. SSM is a youth program completely redefining the community it has settled in. Run by students through the guidance of the students who have been through the previous programs; SSM takes on a new dynamic for every student, FREEDOM. The freedom we are talking about isnt the uncontrolled, untamed, unknown desires of a student being unleashed. It is the excitement, passion, enthusiasm, uncontrollable laughter, and heartfelt love that we want them the experience. Now, we arent saying that pain, heartache, devastation or unexpected turn of events in life dont happen outside of the church. We expect it to happen, and we want this to become a place of hope, a place of love and a place for help.
SSM is a place where people are REAL with you, TRANSPARENT with the students around them, and an EXAMPLE to all. Come check us out,
we would be thrilled to have you!
"Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for all believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." --1Timothy 4:12
Hey everyone! My name is Jimmy Waterman. I have a twin brother, named Tommy, and a younger brother named Kyle. I am 19 years old and am currently attending LSCC for an AA to where I hope to move onto a BA at UCF. I am employed at the Mount Dora Target during the week and on Saturdays. I have been in church since I was 11 years old. I have grown through many youth leaders and am dedicating myself to become a Youth Pastor when I get out of Seminary School. I like to play soccer, video games, ping-pong, foosball, pool, basketball and many other activities. God continues to bless me with an amazing life. His greatest gift to me thus far was the NPF Youth group. I love them all dearly and they always make me smile. =)
Song of Songs 8:6
"Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy unyielding as the grave.
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame."
Hey everyone my name is Tobie Smith. I have two younger brothers Mickie, who is in High School, and Terie, who is in Elementary school. I am 25 years old and currently attend school online via RockBridge Seminary for a Diploma of Ministry which I will transfer into a Master of Divinity degree. Right now I have several different occupations. I am a Delivery Representative for Florida Hospital Home Infusion, I am a Seasonal CAST member at Walt Disney World (I know, Im a Disney nerd!), and I am part-time staff of NorthPointe Fellowship serving as the IT & Tech Coordinator, and as a leader of the Youth. I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior on January 19, 2003, shortly after that I became the Facilities Manager for the Youth at FBCU. In spring of 2003 I became a Youth Student Intern. I remained in this position until April 2007, when NPF was born. I have always had a heart for Youth Ministry. I love the challenges and Joys that it brings. This past winter of 2009 at a conference in Georgia I received my calling to be a Youth Pastor. I am actively walking along with Jimmy in leading the youth. I love it. If anyone would like to know anything else, just ask me.
Colossians 3:23 23
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men"
Mr. Scott Is an old guy who never grew up! He has been married for over 20 years to a beautiful woman (Hedie) and has three wonderful girls, Brandy, Jessica, and Kate. He works from his home for a software company as a Business Analyst (dont ask unless you have the time) and is going to Seminary and has the goal to go into the full-time ministry. He likes hunting, golf, reading, playing guitar and drums, writing songs and hiking. He loves the excitement and energy of the youth at NPF and desires to help the kids build a strong and vibrant youth program at NPF that will impact our community for Jesus and the Great Commission.
Philippians 2:5-11
"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death even death on a cross! 9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Hey there! My name is Gina Waterman. Picture with me is my family Tommy, Kyle, Jimmy, and Ted. (You also have 2 of the 5 dogs Lil Bits, and Blackey). Ted and I have been together for 16 years! If you knew Ted, you would say, Wow, thats a long time!! Just kidding hes a great guy, well keep him. Ted and I own Waterman Construction and Pools. It keeps us very busy. How Waterman Construction came into existence is a God Story all on its own ask me sometime. I cant wait to see where God is taking NorthPointe Fellowship I think He has an incredible journey ahead for all of us. Weve already seen so much growth in relationships with Him. My desire is to see our youth develop that relationship early to develop that zeal that He mentions in the bible.
